Official Site Handover for Lot 8 in Malanville and Coordination Meeting Held

The Société Béninoise des Aménagements Agricoles (SoBAA) officially carried out, during the month of October, the handover of the Lot 8 sites to the SAED/BAOBAB consortium, which is responsible for conducting the technical, socio-economic, financial, and environmental feasibility studies of 2,937 hectares dedicated to irrigated rice production in the Commune of Malanville.

Together with the DGR, the Niger Valley ATDA, and the local authorities, SoBAA emphasized that this project belongs first and foremost to the producers themselves, as it aims to sustainably improve their living conditions through better water management and more consistent agricultural production.

During the mission, several local authorities expressed their strong support for the initiative, including:

• Seidou Moussa, First Deputy Mayor of Malanville;
• Dobi Massou Danlanso, Head of the Madécali District;
• Dandakoé Moussa Bari, Local Councilor of the Madécali District., Conseiller local de l’Arrondissement de Madécali.
  
  

A technical coordination meeting was also held at SoBAA’s headquarters in Cotonou, bringing together all stakeholders to align on the methodology, schedule, and practical arrangements for implementing the studies.
