Position Overview :
SoBAA S.A. is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead both the strategic and operational aspects of the company’s financial, accounting, and tax management. The CFO will ensure alignment between financial performance objectives and regulatory compliance, particularly in accordance with the OHADA accounting framework. The CFO will work closely with the General Management in defining and implementing the company’s overall financial strategy, actively contributing to sustainable growth and long-term financial viability.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Define, lead, and adapt the financial strategy in line with the company’s growth and profitability goals, as well as OHADA regulations.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice on SoBAA S.A.’s operations, plans, and initiatives.
  • Take full ownership of the accounting function, optimize processes, and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of accounting methods.
  • Oversee and ensure the maintenance, updates, and quality of financial records in accordance with OHADA standards.
  • Prepare and validate balance sheets, income statements, and financial reports in compliance with laws, procedures, and Board of Directors' instructions.
  • Produce periodic reporting and activity reports for General Management.
  • Manage banking relationships and negotiate conditions with banks and financial partners.
  • Piloter les politiques de la SoBAA S.A. concernant : fonds propres, dette, fiscalité, capitaux propres, cessions et acquisitions.
  • Ensure optimal and sustainable cash and financial risk management in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate investment studies and project monitoring to ensure current and projected profitability.
  • Ensure full legal, regulatory, and tax compliance with OHADA and other statutory requirements.
  • Implement, structure, and optimize procedures, internal controls, and reconciliations to prevent risks, fraud, and losses.
  • Supervise internal and external audits and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Safeguard assets and receivables in line with applicable laws.
  • Lead, train, evaluate, and motivate the finance team.
  • Structure departments to enhance performance and promote team cohesion.
  • Foster a results-oriented work environment aligned with professional standards.
  • Assist General Management in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Board recommendations related to SoBAA S.A.’s financial management.
  • Deliver strategic financial analyses to support decision-making at the executive level.

Profile Sought :

  • Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Management Control, or a related field
  • Chartered Accountant certification or equivalent (ACCA, CPA) preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Background in Finance, Banking, or large-scale projects strongly recommended (Audit firm or management control experience is a plus)
  • Proficient in accounting standards (SYSCOHADA, IFRS)
  • Strong knowledge of taxation, business law, and financial management
  • Advanced Excel and proficiency with ERP software (e.g., SAGE)
  • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and professional ethics
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Fluent in French (mandatory)
  • Professional proficiency in English (preferred)
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment
  • Occasional travel required (projects, financial partners)
